Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinct mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Avery Sunshine's work has led her across Broadway to European concerts and festivals and even to her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has the name Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta but her origins are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing the musical profession by singing and playing the piano in a church. She was a student at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You the House came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed several times, and it is a mainstay of her live show. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. She became the primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her the position of director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of interest during four consecutive shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
